Attha Kodali tho Majja

Microsoft lifted the lid on two new wallet-friendly handsets at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, as it continues to target cost-conscious consumers to boost take up for its Windows Phone platform.

The Lumia 640 is priced £100 and features a 5-inch screen, support for 3G and LTE networks, an eight-megapixel camera, a beefy 1.2Ghz quad-core processor and Near Field Communications (NFC) technology for contactless payments.

Opt for the Lumia 640 XL and the spec sheet isn’t too different, except you’ll get a larger 5.7-inch 1080p display, a 13-megapixel camera for 189 Euros. That’s about £135.

Both new Lumia kits feature a free 12-month subscription to Office 365, which is pretty sweet if you’re all about productivity.

And although both run Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box, they’ll both be upgradable to the latest Windows 10 software when it's made available.

Naturally, Microsoft is offering them in the Lumia range's trademark range of colours. These are: blue, orange, cyan and white.
