The Apple Watch will hit shelves in April, not March as has been previously rumoured. That’s the word straight from Apple CEO Tim Cook, who revealed the company’s plans during a conference call to discuss its record breaking quarterly results.

“Development for Apple Watch is right on schedule, and we expect to begin shipping in April.”

Cook went on to talk up the device, saying he used it every day and that he “can’t live life without it”.

However, he would not reveal any more details about the device, with price structure and battery usage still the biggest unknowns about the smart watch.

Apple will be hoping that the watch can match the runaway success of its latest iPhones. The Cupertino company posted record quarterly sales of 74.5 million iPhones between October and December, making £12 billion profit in the process. iPad sales, though, continue to slow and dropped to just over 21 million, from 26 million a year ago.
