In a post on the Nokia Conversations blog, the Finnish phone-maker has teased what could be the first QWERTY smartphone in its Windows Phone-powered Lumia family.

The post said: “On Wednesday morning at 7am GMT (8am UK time) we will be announcing something new, followed by a Q&A session with Neil Broadley from our Mobile Phones team and a special guest.”

The real clue, though, is in the accompanying close-up shot of a handset that clearly features physical buttons, including the function key that’s become a regular fixture of Nokia’s QWERTY mobiles line.

The phone is also very evidently yellow, which probably suggests it is part of the Lumia range that’s earned plaudits in tech circles for its vibrant colourways.
